Help with my first emulator

Actually, when I say 'first' that's a bit of a lie - I used to own a mac and had Macspectacle which was dandy. Now, however I have a PC running Windows 98 and would like to know the best emulator to use. I downloaded Z80 and that was a bit pants - very flickery graphics. Before I get 20 replies all telling me to download different emulators, I just want something to play games on - I don't need any fancy gizmos, I just want something that plays like a spectrum!

I am aware that there are DOS compatible emulators out there, but I'm not very techno-minded, so if anyone can explain how to run them I'd be doubly grateful!
