Hi & happy new year,
Thanks to the colossal work done by the Circle's library author Rene Stange, we have a feature that, a few months ago, was impossible: HDMI sound.
I'm not fully satisfied with results, but the sound is good 99,9% times. When the PI is HDMI plugged, the sound outputs by the TV set. When is connected to composite video the sound outputs by the 3'5mm video/sound jack.
That's the good news. The not so good news is the PIs A+/B+/Zero are unsupported. The HDMI sound needs many CPU cycles and the ARMv6 based PIs can't cope with so much work.
Remember: it's a beta version, not definitive. The results hardly can be enhanced, so I prefer to release a beta and hear the users.
The image is in Dropbox, and could be used on PI-2/3. kernel7.img
No other features are added.
Best regards
